Reaching For The Sun is a short documentary about memories and how Alzheimer's disease impacts social relationships and significant moments in someone's life. The film introduces a hopeful perspective in the fight against the disease, presenting the possibility of a new breakthrough in medicine. Inspired by sunlight's transitions and chromatic combinations, we developed a color concept that evolves from dusk to dawn.
The video shifts its color grading to symbolize the darkness surrounding Alzheimer's disease and the light shed on positive results, bringing positive news of a bright future for medicine. Connecting with the illustrations in collages, we reflect on the fragments experienced throughout life, sometimes remembered, sometimes forgotten. We created a hand-drawn typeface to symbolize the uniqueness and individuality of human connections.
